Low Cost Carrier

PT Citilink Indonesia 5 percent of the aviation market targeting low cost carrier (LCC). Total low-cost passenger growth this year is estimated as many as 17 percent.

As stated by the Director of Strategy and IT Garuda Indonesia, Elisa Lumbantoruan in PersdaNetwork his press statement received here on Monday (15/3/2010).

He mentioned, growth in aviation in total for both LCC and premium class this year is 10 percent. In 2009 the total number of passengers was 43.7 million, so the growth is estimated to 49 million.

LCC passenger market share between 60-70 percent Elisa clear so the estimated number around 30-31 million of the total airline passengers. "We are targeting the LCC market as much as 5 percent. Citilink Need 40 pilot, will you?

He estimated that demand for airline pilot labor-based cost (low cost carrier / LCC) such as Citilink, will continue to rise given the LCC market in Indonesia is growing rapidly.
    
Last year alone, according to Elisa, from a total of 43 million domestic passenger air transport for about 70 percent using low-cost airline. LCC market share is expected to continue to rise because of growth per year, reaching 17-20 per cent while the premium market grew only three to five percent per year, he said.

Citilink Open Jakarta-Denpasar route

Citilink, unit bisnis strategis (SBU) PT Garuda Indonesia mulai merealisasikan rencana ekspansi rute barunya. Pada 4 Juni 2010, maskapai tersebut akan membuka rute Jakarta-Denpasar menggunakan Boeing 737-300 yang dihibahkan induk usahanya.

Menurut Direktur Strategi dan Teknologi Informasi Garuda Indonesia, Elisa Lumbantoruan, Citilink memilih membuka penerbangan ke Denpasar karena rute tersebut padat penumpang. "Kami targetkan load factor-nya bisa mencapai 80 persen setiap kali penerbangan," kata Elisa, di Jakarta, Rabu (2/6/2010).

Ia memastikan penerbangan Jakarta-Denpasar tidak hanya dibuka untuk mengantisipasi peak season liburan sekolah. Namun, Citilink akan menerbangi rute tersebut secara reguler. "Kami juga sudah berkoordinasi dengan Kementerian Perhubungan," kata Elisa.

Sebelumnya Asisten Direktur Niaga Garuda Indonesia, Joseph Saul menjelaskan, tahun ini Garuda akan menghibahkan delapan unit Boeing seri klasik untuk digunakan Citilink. Terdiri dari tiga unit 737-400 dan lima unit 737-300.

Citilink akan memanfaatkan tambahan pesawat itu untuk mengembangkan empat rute baru. Selain Jakarta-Denpasar, Citilink juga akan membuka rute Jakarta-Pekanbaru, Jakarta-Padang, dan Jakarta-Balikpapan.

Saat ini, Citilink sudah melayani enam rute domestik. Yaitu Surabaya-Jakarta, Surabaya-Banjarmasin, Surabaya-Balikpapan, Surabaya-Ujungpandang, Surabaya-Batam, dan Jakarta-Medan.

Maskapai yang menargetkan 1,2 juta penumpang pada 2010 ini menggunakan lima pesawat jenis Boeing 737-300 dan 737-400 dimana tiga diantaranya merupakan pesawat sewa dan dua sisanya diberikan Garuda Indonesia.
